Last Friday's matches were the seasons penultimate ones, and after the dust had settled, just two issues remain to be decided in next Fridays games, who will finish runner up, and who will be relegated from the Premier Division.
 
The jubilant Charcoal Burner players celebrated there first Championship for nearly twenty years, by inflicting a 7-2 defeat on the bottom side Dingles, Burgess Hill's Dean Edlin was the star on the night for the Burner, hitting a maximum, and a 115 finish, while Ian Holman's 180 couldn't save his relegation threatened side from their twenth straight loss.
 
The Pelham's hang on to second place with a 5-4 victory over the Diamonds , Neil Smith, Pete Crossley & Kevin Fishwick all struck 180's, while Diamonds Phil Smith hit the weeks best finish, a fine 118, Fishwick added to his 180, by hitting a 103 finish. Ronnie Godbeer hit his thirteenth maximum of the season for CC Bumbles, during the Bee's 7-2 victory over Longley C. Royal Bridges's Dan Bradford banged in a brace of 180's to help his side defeat RS Bumbles 5-4, Kevin Reilly & Nigel Panton also helped in the Royals win, by hitting 116 & 100 finishes respectably.
 
Labour Blasters became the A Division Champions without playing, because their nearest challengers Bridges, could only beat the Rugby Club 6-3, and have a bye in the final week, while the Blasters visit the Conservative Club. Mal Terry (Pictured) hit her second 180 of the season for Bridges, all to no avail, but the Conservative Club did cement third spot with a 7-2 win over APV, for whom Sussex Youth player Mark Fluck hit a maximum. Finally bottom side Pelham Buckle, recorded only their second victory of the season, when beating the Railway Rebels, who just finish outside the relegation zone.
 
Newly crowned B Division Champions Three Bridges A kept their 100% record intact with a 6-3 win at the Imperial, while Jo Hackney's maiden league 180, couldn't save her side Downwind from a 5-4 defeat by the Blocbusters. Best win of the week though, came for the Paymasters, who ran out 8-1 victors over the Heathy Farmers.

After last Fridays games, most teams have just two games left to clinch league honours this season. Premier Division leaders Charcoal Burner are sure to be crowned the new Champions following their 7-2 thumping of the Diamonds, they now only need 2pts from their remaining two games, Ron Clarke struck two maximums for the Burner, while Graham Brook hit a consolation one for the Diamonds.
 
Second placed Pelham's, stay in second despite going down 6-3 to third placed CC Bumbles, the Bee's hit four 180's on their way to victory, through Ben Burton (Pictured) [2], Ron Godbeer & Mark Harris, Burton also had a 100 checkout.
 
Royal Bridges beat Longley C 6-3, Dan Bradford & Ernie Potter were both on target with maximums, and Andy Gurr hit a fine 120 finish, but despite their loss, Longley's climbed off bottom spot, because their fierce rivals for the basement place Dingles, were crushed 9-0 by RS Bumbles, Tony Denman remains the leading 180 scorer after hitting his fourteenth of the season, his team mate Mike Morley chipped in with a 117 finish.
 
Labour Blasters took a big step towards winning the A Division, by comfortably beating the Rugby Club 8-1, while there main challengers Bridges suffered a 5-4 defeat by the Railway Rebels, meaning the Blasters just need 3pts from their final game to be crowned Champions, while both the Rugby Club, and the Pelham Buckle are relegated after the ifield sides narrow 5-4 defeat at the Conservative Club.
 
Three Bridges can enjoy the rest of their season already crowned B Division Champions last week, and to celebrate, they duly thumped bottom side Heathy Farmers 8-1 this Friday. The Imperial had a bye, but they have already clinched the runner spot.. Third placed Guns & Roses went down 5-4 to Downwind, while Alan Jenkins 180 for the Paymasters, was his teams highlight during their 5-4 defeat to the Blocbusters.

The Charcoal Burner took a giant step towards becoming the Friday Darts League Champions last Friday, when they beat nearest rivals CC Bumbles 6-3 at the Conservative Club.
 
Nine maximums were hit on the night, three from the Bees, while Dean Edlin (Pictured Top), Ron Clarke & Richard Stanford all hit a brace each for the Burner, big out shots from Dave Mansell [120], and Dave Webb [106] ensured a high scoring encounter.
 
Reigning Champions Pelhams, moved back into second spot following their 9-0 demolition of the Dingles, Andy Macintosh (Pictured bottom) with two, and Neil Smith helped themselves to 180's for the Champions.
 
Kevin Fishwick grabbed his third maximum of the season, to help the Diamonds to a 6-3 victory over Royal Bridges, Paul Trivass chipped in with a 117 finish for the Diamonds, while Chris Clewers 107 checkout proved too be all in vain for the Royals. RS Bumbles Ant Morley's fine 115 finish was the highlight of the Bee's 8-1 beating of Longley C, but despite the heavy defeat, the Builders move to within 1pt of Dingles and safety from relegation...
 
The top two in the A Division clashed at the Labour Club, with victory going to second placed Bridges by a narrow 5-4 score line over the leaders Labour Blasters. This leaves for a thrilling end to the season as both team have two games left to clinch the one promotion spot this season, and now the gap is down to just 3pts, although Bridges do have a superior 180 record. APV stay in third after their 5-4 victory over the Railway Rebels, while Mark Stevens third 180 of the campaign helped the Conservative Club beat the Rugby Club 7-2, in a double header.
 
Three Bridges A clinched the B Division title after beating a depleted Downwind 9-0, the Imperial's chances of piping Three Bridges ended when they surprisingly were defeated 6-3 by the Paymasters, but look favourites for the runner up spot, as third placed Guns and Roses also lost 5-4, this time to the Blocbusters..

The PDC'S world ranked no 63 Tony Ayres (Pictured Top) last week, made the short trip up from Billingshurst well worthwhile, by winning the popular Good Friday Singles competition, run via the Crawley Friday Darts League.
 
Ayres took home the £100 first prize by defeating the Charcoal Burners Dave Mansell (Pictured bottom) 3-0 in the Final, on his way to the title Ayres struck six 180's including one in the final. On route to the final, he beat off challenges from Brendan O'Neil [3-0], Andy Hills [3-0], Andy Gurr [3-1], Gary Newman [3-0] before ending Rob Cross's hopes 3-1 in the Semi's.
 
Meanwhile Mansell was battling through to face Ayres in the Final, with victories over Ashley Hammond [3-1], Jason Body [3-0], then former Champion Danny King [3-1], Pelhams Andy Macintosh fell in the Quarter Finals [3-2], and then comfortably winning 3-0 over Epsom's Kurtis Atkins 3-0.
 
Ayre's vast experience told in the final, he took the opening first leg with Mansell missing shots at the double, a maximum, and further big scores saw him go 2-0 up, with further big scores in the third leg, Ayres took the coveted title for the first time.
 
Apart from Ayres six maximums, a further eleven were struck on the night, through Andy Macintosh [2], Kevin Fishwick [2], Rob Cross [2], Kurtis Atkins [2], while Neil Smith, Ashley Hammond and Jason Springer chipped in with one apiece.
 
Horsham's Andy MacDonald posted the nights best finish, a fine 155. Other big efforts came from Jason Body 118, Andy Gurr 110 and finally Andy Macintosh 100, thus ending a brilliant days play.
 
Earlier in the afternoon, there was two Flying Pairs competition, preceding the main event. In the first, Crawley's Sussex Youth player Rob Metcalfe teamed up with Kurtis Atkins, beating the all Crawley pairing of Pete Crossley & Larry Kavanah in the final. Metcalfe was then was paired with Horley's Danny King in the second competition, and the due made it through to the final, where they eventually lost out to Crawleys Dave Philpot & Warren Grantham.

The Charcoal Burner remain firm favourites to clinch the Premier Division Championship, with just four matches left to play, after they caned the RS Bumbles 8-1 in an high scoring encounter that produced nine 180's, and five 100+ checkouts.
 
Tony Denman hit his 12th & 13th maximums of the season for the Bee's, while his team mates Mike Morley, Tony Arnold & Paul Burrows chipped in with one each, with the Burners Richard Stanford, Del Furminger, Dean Edlin & Ken Sowerby replying in kind. Morley [133 & 113], Edlin [127], Stanford [126 ] & Lee Gladman [101] added the big finishes.
 
Second placed CC Bumbles suffered their second successive defeat, when going down 5-4 to the inform Diamonds, to leave them 15pts adrift of the leaders, three maximums were struck during the game, through the Bee's Dave Webb [2] & Diamonds Steve Mecrow, Kevin Fishwick shot out on 161 for the Diamonds, the fourth best of the season.
 
Pelham's drew level with the CC Bumbles, following their 6-3 victory over the Royal Bridges, two more 180's were posted here, through Andy Macintosh [Pelham's] & the Royal's Dan Bradford, while Alex Murphy poked home a 113 finish in a rare appearance for the Royal's.
 
At the bottom of the table, Longley C moved to within 2pts of the Dingles, following a 6-3 win over there nearest rivals for the one relegation slot going this season.
 
No change at the top of the A Division, as the top two both posted 6-3 victories, in their quest to win the one promotion spot.
 
Leaders Labour Blasters overcame Railway Rebels, for whom Bill Jaques hit a 106 checkout, and Bridges beat bottom side Pelham Buckle. APV registered a big 8-1 win over the Rugby Club to cement 3rd place.
 
With the B Division leaders Three Bridges A having a bye, the chasing pack failed to capitalize, as the Imperial struggled to a narrow 5-4 win over Downwind, and the Guns & Roses lost out 5-4 to the Paymasters. Heathy Farmer are still searching for their first win, after going down 8-1 to the Blocbusters.
 
This Friday [Good Friday], the League are staging their popular Good Friday Singles competitions at Three Bridges FC, play will start from 2-00pm, with the Singles starting from 6-30pm.

Last Friday, the Charcoal Burner took a giant stride towards winning their first Premier Division title, when they completely outplayed their nearest challengers CC Bumbles to win 7-2, the Burner's Dave Mansell, and the Bee's Ronnie Godbeer both hit maximums, while PDC star Dave Askew stuck a 117 finish for also for the Bee' s.
 
The reigning Champions, Pelham's may be seeing their title change hands, but following their 7-2 victory over the Dingles move to within 2pts off second place, Pelhams Neil Smith banged in his ninth 180, while his team mates Gary Simpson & Jason Yates posted 127 & 109 finishes respectably.
 
Diamonds produced all the sparkle as they comfortably beat Royal Bridges 8-1, Phil Smith & Paul Trivass both hit 180's, and Kevin Fishwick chipping in with a 115 finish. Although totally outplayed, the Royal's Kevin Reilly [117], and Dan Bradford [118] did try to fight back hitting big checkouts.
 
RS Bumbles, after a run of disappointing results, got back to winning ways, helped by maximums from Martin Wells & Tony Arnold beating bottom side Longley C 7-2, despite a consolation 180 from John Usher.
 
Labour Blasters won the battle to be top team in the A Division, after a 5-4 victory over nearest rivals Bridges, Dave Fry (pictured) hit his third maximum for the Blasters, as his side open up a 4pt lead at the top.
 
Railway Rebel's long run of victories came to an abrupt end when they crashed 6-3 to APV. Rugby Club postponed there game with the Conservative to a later date.
 
Nineteen points separate B Division leaders Three Bridges A, and second placed Imperial after both sides had good 6-3 victories, with Three Bridges beating Downwind, and the Imperial overcoming the Paymasters. The Guns & Roses topsy turvey season continues, but this week it proved too be a win, beating the Blocbusters 7-2.

Last Friday's matches produced sixteen 180's in the Premier Division, as the action hots up with just 5 matches left for most teams. Premier leaders, Charcoal Burner increased their lead at the top to six points after whitewashing bottom side Longley C 9-0, with Ken Sowerby & Dean Edlin hitting 180's for the Burner, and Russell Davies knocking in one for Longley C. RS Bumbles star Tony Denman (pictured) was in superb form at the Pelham Buckle, striking three maximums, but even his great effort couldn't save his side from a 6-3 defeat, further 180's were struck by team mate Tony Arnold, and the Pelhams Jason Yates, while former Sussex star Neil Smith hit 116 & 112 finishes for the ifield side.
 
 CC Bumbles hot on the Charcoal Burners heels in second place, beat the Royal Bridges 6-3, with Surrey star Ben Burton grabbing a brace of 180's, team mates Darren Gale and Ron Godbeer both hit one apiece, and the Royals Kevin Reilly hit his tenth of the season. Diamonds struggled to field a full team against the Dingles, but helped by maximums from Paul Trivass, Steve Mecrow & Graham Brook still proved too strong winning 7-2. Dingles Sussex youth player Owen Grantham hit a consolation 114 finish, while Colin Whiley hit Diamonds best checkout, a modest 103.
 
There's a change at the top of the A Division, as the long time leaders Bridges crashed 5-4 to APV, but despite maximums from Lee Nichols & Roly Ratcliffe, the former leaders couldn't raise their game, and slipped to a defeat. Replacing Bridges at the top are Labour Blasters, the Reds completed an easy 9-0 win over bottom side Pelham Buckle., to go 3pts clear at the top.. The Conservative Club crashed 7-2 to the inform side Railway Rebels, for whom Gary Kozel & Dave Parker posted 180's.
 
Runaway leaders of the B Division are Three Bridges A, they remain undefeated after pasting the Paymasters 9-0, leaving second placed Imperial 19pts adrift after they could only beat a depleted Blocbusters 6-3, Dave Wragg hit his third 180 of the season for the Broadfield outfit, making a record 21 maximums hit through out all three divisions, a league record for one night... In the final game the Rose & Crown completed a comfortable 9-0 victory over the Heathy Farmers.
   
  4th March 10 - KO Cup's  Round Up by Dave Miles
 

 

Recently the League staged its two Cup competitions, which were both at the Quarter-Final stages.
 
The Pelham's had previously won the K.O. Cup for the last three years, but this season they had to overcome the inform team of the moment CC Bumbles in a mouth-watering tie. It started badly for the Cup holders losing the opening game, but were soon level 1-1 after the two trebles. they even went 3-2 up during the Singles, but the CC Bumbles responded well by taking all three remaining games to clinch a fine 5-3 victory..
 
Andy Macintosh (pictured top) with two, and Neil Smith hit maximums for the Pelham's, Ronnie Godbeer replied with one for the Bees, but high lite of the match was young Dan Grimmett's 167 finish for the Ifield side, further big finishes came for Ben Burton 101, and Kez Botting 100.
 
In another high scoring encounter, the Charcoal Burner beat the Dingles 8-0, helped by Dean Edlin's (pictured bottom) brace of 180's, with Ron Clarke, Ken Sowerby, Del Furminger also hitting maximums for the Burner. The Dingles Peter Phelan grabbed a 180 for the Dingles as some consolation. Four big checkouts were hit, with the best of them 122 by Lee Gladman, this was followed by Richard Stanford's 120, Owen Grantham's 114 & Ron Clarke's 103.
 
Joining the CC Bumbles & the Charcoal Burner in the Semis will be Royal Bridges, who beat Longley C 6-2, with Kevin Reilly on target with a 180.
 
Lab Blasters ensured the A Division will be represented, by powering past the A Division leaders Bridges 5-3.
 
The Diamonds are the red hot favourites to lift the Consolation Cup, as they proved too powerful for the B Division leaders Three Bridges A, despite going 2-0 down after the Trebles, they took all six singles to eventually post a comfortable win. The Diamonds Nick Edwards struck a 180 to help see off the gallant Three Bridges side 6-2.
 
Mark Stevens struck his second 180 of the season for the Conservative Club, which helped ease them through to the semis by beating APV again by a 6-2 score line. Railway Rebels and the Guns & Roses booked their places in the semis, the Railway side beat the Blocbusters 7-1, while the Guns & Roses were awarded a 5-0 walkover against the Heathy Farmers.

Friday's action saw the League's three Singles Champions trying to keep their hands on their titles won in the 2009 Competitions.
 
Ron Clarke was defending the Premier title at the Labour Club, Dick Brice was trying to retain the A & B Division's crown at Three Bridges F.C. and Tracey Lucas the Ladies title.
 
At the Labour Club, there was a disappointing entry for the Premier Competition, but that certainly didn't stop the 180's & high finishes.
 
From the top half of the draw, veteran Del Furminger (pictured top) of the Charcoal Burner was on fire, he came through a tough draw, ending the hopes of Diamonds Paul Trivass & Steve Mecrow, also hitting a brace of 180's to claim one of the four qualifying places.
 
In the next round to be held in May, he will face his team mate Adam Campbell, who saw of the challenge of Royal Bridges Andy Gurr, then a previous winner Lee Gladman in a close fought game 3-2. Young Ant Morley of RS Bumbles grabbed a place in the last four by beating brother Mike, and then Darren Gale, leaving the final qualifier to be last years Champion Ron Clarke (pictured bottom), Clarke now a Charcoal Burner player came through by beating Ian Holman of the Dingles, and then team mate Dave Mansell 3-2.
 
Apart from Furminger's brace of maximums, Gale also hit two, while Clarke, Morley, Mansell,Gladman, Gurr, Neil Smith and Mal Bradford all hit one apiece... Kevin Reilly with 120, and Ian Holman 106 produced ton plus out shots.
 
Dick Brice failed in his attempt to retain his title, going down to the Conservative Club's Lee Raymond in the last eight of the A & B Competition, with Raymond going on to clinch his place on Finals night.
 
Raymond's opponent in that semi-final will be Railway Rebels Mal Richardson, who defeated both the Imperial players Ron Webster, then Dave Wragg who shot the nights highest finish a modest 100. In the other Semi-final two Labour Blasters team mates will face up. Roy Oxlade will play big Dave Fry, after they beat Laurie Shepherd, Darren Schollar, Roly Ratcliffe & Ty Coward respectably. Fry celebrated his qualifying by hitting the sole 180 on the night.
 
Sadly Tracy Lucas didn't defend her title in the Ladies competition.
 
Only seven players competed this year, leaving this competition in jeopardy for future years. Despite the lack of interest, former Champion & last years runner up Dingles Tracey Jenner, won through beating Heathy Farmers Sue Raikes & Andrea Rodger. But the surprise of the night came in the form of thirteen year old Paige Oxlade, the young Labour Club player beat off the more experienced player Barbara Hobden of the Heathy Farmers, to book her place on Finals night.

Despite the recent gloomy weather, the League still shines bright with ten more maximums spread around the towns boards last Friday. Following last weeks great 170 finish, Pelham's Neil Smith again was the inform man bagging a brace of 180's to help the Ifield side to a 7-2 win over Longley C, team mate Jason Yates (pictured) also hit a maximum to keep the reigning Champions still in touch with the top two.
 
Leaders Charcoal Burner struggled to a 5-4 win over the Royal Bridges, for whom Kevin Reilly & Dan Bradford both struck 180's, 2nd placed CC Bumbles did close the gap with the Burner to 5pts after they eased past the Dingles 7-2, with Surrey star Ben Burton hitting his third maximum of the season for the Bee's.
 
A depleted Diamonds did well to clinch a 5-4 win over RS Bumbles, the 5 man side helped by Graham Brook's 109 checkout, edged a thriller, despite the Bee's Tony Denman grabbing his eighth 180 of the campaign.
 
A Division leaders Bridges crashed 5-4 to the Conservative Club, maximums from the Blues Mark Stevens & Mick Dixon proved too much for Bridges, but despite the defeat still stay top, but now lead by only 2pts as Labour Blasters who hit APV for seven, winning 7-2 close in on them.
 
The Blue's win over Bridges keeps them third, just in touch with the top two. The two bottom sides battled it out at the Rugby Club, with victory going to the home side 6-3 over the Pelham Buckle.
 
Runaway B Division leaders Three Bridges A increased their lead at the top to 14 pts, after beating the Blocbusters 8-1, and second placed Imperial were surprisingly shot down 5-4 by the Guns & Roses, Ron Webster shot a maximum for the Broadfield side, but all to no avail.
 
Downwind's recent form continues with a 6-3 win over the Heathy Farmers enabling them to strengthen their third spot.

The top two Premier Division clashes last Friday, produced eleven maximums and a number of high finishes, including the best, a 170.
 
The 170 came for the Pelhams Neil Smith (pictured), as his effort spurred on the reigning Champions to a hard fought 5-4 win over the leaders Charcoal Burner, thus ending the Burners great ten match unbeaten run.. Pelham's Kez Botting, Dan Grimmett, Pete Crossley & Gary Simpson were all on target with 180's, Burners Lee Gladman struck his ninth maximum of the season, while team mates Dave Mansell & Dean Edlin added further ones, young Grimmett had the final say as his fine 109 finish helped in his defeat of the Burners Ron Clarke.
 
Despite their defeat the Burner stay top, but CC Bumbles closed the gap on them, following their 7-2 beating of the RS Bumbles in another high scoring encounter. Maximums from CC Bumbles Ron Godbeer, Tom Lewis, Ant Hopkins & Alex Whiteside, were followed by big checkouts from team mates Ben Burton[143], Darren Gale [117] & Godbeer [101].
 
Royal Bridges beat the Dingles 7-2, with Mike Kramer's first maximum of the season for Dingles being the sole highlight of the game. Diamonds, after last weeks fine win over the Pelhams, completely dominated the game with Longley C, winning 9-0, leaving Longley's languishing in bottom spot.
 
With A Division leaders Bridges having a week off, second placed Labour Blasters failed to take advantage. Despite Dave Fry's 180 for the Blasters, they crashed 5-4 at home to the Conservative Club, for whom Mick Dixon was on target with a 106 finish.
 
Railway Rebels season continues to improve, with another victory, this tine at the expense of division strugglers Rugby Club by 6-3. Bottom side Pelham Buckle suffered another heavy defeat, when going down 8-1 to APV.
 
Three Bridges lead at the top of the B Division is 10 pts after beating the Guns & Roses 6-3, and the Imperials 8-1 beating of the Heathy Farmers. Downwind are a further ten pts off the pace in third spot after beating the Paymasters 6-3.

The League conjured up a massive 15 maximums to bring the seasons total to 167 with nearly half the season still to play.
 
Five were posted during RS Bumbles 5-4 victory over Royal Bridges in the Premier Division, the Bee's Tony Denman was again in sparkling form, hitting a brace of 180's, while his team mates Mike Morley & Tony Arnold, and the Royals Chris Clewer all hit one apiece, Morley also checked out on 100, but Dan Bradford hit back with a 121 finish for the Royals.
 
Nick Edwards & Colin Whiley were on target for the Diamonds, as they inflicted a 6-3 defeat on the Pelhams, for whom Neil Smith banged home a 121 finish. Leaders Charcoal Burner, still hold a comfortable lead, following a 7-2 win over the struggling Dingles, who had Stuart Campbell striking his first 180 of the season, and Ian Holman hitting a fine 111 finish. Second placed CC Bumbles close on leaders Bumbles after their 8-1 trouncing of bottom side Longley C, with Ronnie Goodbeer striking his fifth maximum for the Bees.
 
Bridges open up a 9pt lead over the Labour Blasters in the race to win the single promotion place to the Premier Division. Norman Simpson (pictured) & Lee Nichols both hit 180's for the A division leaders, during their 7-2 victory over the relegation threatened Rugby Club.. Labour Blasters had a bye, so the Conservative Club closed in on them following their narrow 5-4 win over APV, but the team to watch are the Railway Rebels, who posted their third straight win after a poor start, when beating the bottom side Pelham Buckle 6-3.
 
All the games in the B Division ended 6-3, leaders Three Bridges helped by Andy Shadbolt's maximum, and 109 finish, beat second placed Imperial to further extend their lead to 12 pts. Laurie Shepherd hit a 180 for the Paymasters during his sides win over the Heathy Farmers, while another maximum came for Blocbusters Stan Baxter, but sadly his was all in vain, as his side crashed to the Downwind, who had Jim Turner notching a 111 checkout.
     
  29th January 10 - Doubles Comps by Dave Miles
 

The League took a break from league games last Friday to stage its two Doubles Competitions, with the Premier players competing for the title won last year by Pete Crossley & Andy MacIntosh, at the Three Bridges FC, while at the Labour Club, the A & B Divisions compete, with both competitions aiming to provide four semi-finalists for Finals night later in May.
   
  At Three Bridges FC, twenty three pairs started out, the reigning Champions couldn't defend their title, but Crossley was in the line up paired with Neil Smith. The final four qualifiers were RS Bumbles duo Ant & Mike Morley, the two brothers ended Crossley & Smith hopes in the quarter finals 2-1.
   
  Joining them will be the Charcoal Burners Ron Clarke & Adam Campbell, they eased through there quarter final by beating Diamonds Phil Smith & Graham Brook 2-0.. Another Diamonds pairing did get through, Colin Whiley & Paul Trivass (Pictured top) saw off Charcoal Burners Del Furminger (Pictured bottom) & Stan Oram 2-1, with the final qualifiers being CC Bumbles Alex Whiteside & Tommy Lewis, who ended RS Bumbles Paul Burrows & Stan Jackson's run with a 2-0 victory.
   
  On the night, Neil Smith & Del Furminger both hit two 180's, while Colin Whiley, Peter Phelan & Ron Clarke all hit one apiece, Clarke also hit a 160 finish, and Whiley poked out on 138.
   
  At the Labour Club, although no maximums were recorded, the action was just as fierce.. Roy Oxlade & Ty Coward made home advantage count, as the Labour Blasters pair beat Tony Cross & Andy Shadbolt of Three Bridges A 2-0, Conservative Club's Mark Stevens & Lee Raymond joined them by beating the Blasters Mick Sykes & Ben Souter 2-1.. The Imperial's Dave Wragg & Ron Webster qualified by beating Bridges Lee Nichols & Mal Terry 2-0. The fourth and final duo to go through from the Labour Club were Dave Philpot & Roly Ratcliffe of the Bridges, they saw off Dick Field & Henry Spencer of the Conservative Club 2-1, Ratcliffe celebrated by hitting a 102 finish.
   
   
   
     
  22nd January 10 - Week 11 Round Up by Dave Miles
 

Premier Division leaders Charcoal Burner continued on their charge at the top of the table by registering their 10th straight win by beating the Diamonds 6-3 at the Burner last Friday.
   
  Despite Phil Smith (Pictured top) hitting a 180, and a 136 & 100 finishes, the Diamonds star couldn't halt the Burners run, further maximums from Colin Whiley [ Diamonds], and Ron Clarke [Burner ] made for a entertaining game.
   
  C.C.Bumbles move above the Pelhams into second place in the table, following their 6-3 victory over the Ifield side, Pete Crossley's & Kez Botting's 180's were all hit in vain.
   
  RS Bumbles, helped by Ant Morley's 110 finish, eased past the Dingles 6-3, while a brace of maximums from Kevin Reilly, and one from Chris Clewer helped the Royal Bridges over the winning line against Longley C 5-4. Dingles defeat now leaves them bottom of the Division, level on pts with Longley C, who have a better wins record..
   
  In the A Division, Railway Rebels recent good form continues with a fine 5-4 win over the Divisional leaders Bridges, a defeat that closes the gap at the top to just 2pts as second placed Labour Blasters posted a 6-3 win over the Rugby Club, Ty Coward struck a 141 checkout for the Blasters, the weeks best.
   
  Dick Bryce (Pictured bottom) notched a 180 for the Pelham Buckle, but that was all the Buckle's joy, as they crashed 8-1 to the Conservative Club.
   
  Three Bridges A whitewashed bottom side Heathy Farmers 9-0, to open up a 9pt lead over the Imperial at the top of the table. Downwind beat the Guns and Roses 6-3, in a match that went well into the next day, finally Paymasters Mick Barber [127] & Gareth Smith [125] hit big finishes to help their side defeat the Blocbusters 5-4..
   
  This Friday 29th Jan, the League are staging their Doubles competitions. Entry is on the night, with the Premier Division players reporting at Three Bridges F.C., while the A & B Division competitors register at the Labour Club from 8.00pm.
     
  15th January 10 - Week 10 Round Up by Dave Miles
 

 

After last weeks fixtures were all postponed, due to the bad weather conditions, it was back to normal last Friday as the first games of a new decade were played out.
   
  Four maximums, and a barrage of high out shots were posted at the Charcoal Burner, as the Premier Division leaders played hosts to RS Bumbles. The Bee's Tony Denman (Pictured top) hit a brace, while team mate Mike Morley & Burner's Lee Gladman both notched one apiece. Gladman also hit 151 & 141 checkouts, Adam Campbell [131], Dean Edlin [121], Denman [114], Dave Mansell [102] & Mike Morley [100] in this high scoring encounter which ended in favour of the Burner 6-3.
   
  Kevin Reilly also bagged a brace of 180's for the Royal Bridges during their 7-2 defeat by the Pelhams, for whom Kez Botting hit a maximum, with the Royals Alan Colegate's 117 checkout the best finish of the match.
   
  Nick Edwards [ Diamonds] & Dave Askew [ CC Bumbles ], both hit two 180's during the Bee's narrow 5-4 win, also on target with maximums were Steve Mecrow [ Diamonds] & Ronnie Godbeer [ Bumbles], while Tommy Lewis had a 100 check out for the Bee's.
   
  Longley C despite beating the Dingles 6-3, still remain bottom of the Premier Division. John Usher (Pictured bottom )hit a maximum for Longley's, leaving the Dingles still searching for their first win of the campaign, and just 1 pt ahead of the bottom side.
   
  Bridges opened up a 4pt lead at the top of the A Division, following their 7-2 victory at the Pelham Buckle, and Labour Blasters suffering a shock 6-3 defeat by the Railway Rebels, Bridges Dave Philpot hit a 180, while Dave Fry checked out on 122 for the Blasters.
   
  APV beat the Rugby Club 7-2 to move up to third in the table.
   
  Dave Wragg's 100 finish, helped the Imperial to a 5-4 win over Downwind to move them level on points with Three Bridges A at the top of the B Division.. Both the Guns & Roses and the Blocbusters recorded big wins, with Guns & Roses beating Paymasters 6-3, and Blocbusters hammering Heathy Farmers 7-2.
     
  18th December - Cup Comps Round Up by Dave Miles
 

Last Friday saw the final action of 2009.
   
  There were five Cup ties, three K.O.Cup & two Consolation Cup games, with the five winners going through to the Quarter-finals in both competitions.
   
  Premier Division sides dominated in four of the games played, Premier leaders Charcoal Burner and the Cup holders Pelhams eased through to the last eight of the K.O.Cup by beating A Division opposition Pelham Buckle and Rugby Club respectably 8-0, while also joining them are Royal Bridges who in an all Premier clash beat RS Bumbles 6-2.
   
  Premier side, and former K.O.Cup winners Diamonds cruised through in the Consolation Cup with a 8-0 whitewash over B Division Paymasters.
   
  But the tie of the night was played out at the Conservative Club, when in an all B Division match, the hosts Blocbusters, caused a shock when defeating high flyers Imperial 5-4, winning the 1001 team game after the match had ended 4-4.
   
  On the night, eight 180s were struck, bringing the season's total to 134, with the best effort coming from young Dan Bradford (Pictured top) with a brace for the Royal Bridges, leading maximum scorer Ant Morley notched his eight for RS Bumbles, while the Burners Lee Gladman (Pictured bottom) struck his seventh.
   
  Other maximum men were Ken Sowerby & Dean Edlin both for the Burner, Dave Wragg [Imperial & Jim Relph [ Blocbusters], while Gladman hit the week's highest finish 132, closely followed by team mate Richard Stanford's 127, while Tony Hodder's 100 finish was the Rugby Club's sole success against the Pelhams.
   
  Would all teams please note: The Guns & Roses will play their home games from Three Bridges FC, due to their venue Rose & Crown being closed.
     
  11th December - Week 9 Round Up by Dave Miles
 

Last Friday nights action, again produced a another barrage of 180's, as the League once again went maximum crazy.
   
  All the top four sides in the Premier Division recorded comfortable big wins, leaders Charcoal Burner increased their lead over the chasing pack after beating bottom side Longley C 8-1.
   
  PDC star Dave Askew, along with team mates Ron Godbeer & Darren Gale (Pictured bottom) struck maximums for the CC Bumbles during their 7-2 defeat of the Bridges Royals for whom Chris Clewer hit a 180, Gale & Askew also hit 132, & 113 finishes respectably to cement the Bees win.
   
  Reigning Champions Pelhams also notched a 7-2 win, when beating RS Bumbles at the Conservative Club, Pete Crossley & Neil Smith struck gold for the Champions, while Paul Burrows and Ant Morley (Pictured middle) replied likewise for the Bumbles, Morley's being his 7th of the season.
   
  Diamonds Phil Smith (Pictured top) hit two maximums, while Steve Mecrow & Paul Wood hit one apiece to help Diamonds defeat the Dingles again by a 7-2 score line.
   
  Jason Terry hit his fourth 180, to help the A Division leaders Bridges remain top following their 6-3 win over APV, Mal Terry also helped Bridges winning cause with a fine 100 finish, young APV star Paul Richardson hit a consolation maximum all in vain.
   
  Labour Blasters keep up the pressure on Bridges at the top by also winning 6-3, helped by Ty Coward's 104 checkout, they overcame bottom side Pelham Buckle in Ifield, to leave both sides level on points.
   
  The Conservative Club lost ground on the top two, after only winning 5-4 over the Railway Rebels, but remain in third place.
   
  Three Bridges & the Imperial are running away at the top of the B Division after both sides ran out 7-2 winners over the Paymasters & Blocbusters respectably, with the former Charcoal Burner veteran Les Templeman now turning out for Three Bridges drawing back the years by hitting a 180.
   
  The Guns & Roses move out of the bottom three after hammering Heathy Farmers 8-1.
   
   
     
  4th December - Week 8 Round Up by Dave Miles
 

Last Friday saw the start of the second third of the season. The 180 count went through the 100 barrier, with 18 more hit during last weeks matches.
   
  Pelham's Neil Smith (Pictured top left) led the way with three during his sides 8-1 win over Longley's, Team mate Jason Yates and Longley's Terry Britt also got in on the act with maximums, while Mick Clarke checked out on 120 for the Ifield side.
   
  Premier Division leaders the Charcoal Burner notched four more through Lee Gladman, Ken Sowerby, Del Furminger & Dean Edlin as the Burner comfortably beat Royal Bridges 7-2, Gladman also struck a fine 110 finish.
   
  Not to be out done, the CC Bumbles and Dingles between them hit another four 180s, Tommy Lewis & Ron Godbeer for the Bees, and Owen Grantham & Ian Holman for the Dingles being the marksmen during the Bees 8-1 win.
   
  RS Bumbles Ant Morley hit his sixth of the season, with team-mate Tony Arnold his second, but it was not enough to stop the Diamonds romping to a 7-2 win, a win helped by the inform Paul Trivass (Pictured bottom left) who hit 130 & 115 finishes.
   
  The A Division has a new leader after the previous leaders Bridges suffered a 5-4 defeat at the Conservative Club, Roly Ratcliffe & Darren Schollars maximums were all in vain.
   
  Labour Blasters who beat APV 6-3 moved above Bridges and are 1pt clear.
   
  Bottom side Pelham Buckle registered their first win after six straight defeats, when beating the Rugby Club 6-3.
   
  Three Bridges A remain the only unbeaten side left in the League, the B Division leaders endured a 7-2 win over the Blocbusters, with Nick Sharpe's 180 the highlight. Second placed Imperial also won 7-2, when beating the Guns & Roses, while also winning big were Downwind, they won 8-1 over the Heathy Farmers.
     
  27th November - Trebles Comp by Dave Miles
 

Last Friday at the Labour Club & Three Bridges FC, the League staged the qualifying rounds of it's two Trebles competitions. The Premier Division players had to qualify at the Labour Club, while Three Bridges FC were hosts to the A & B Division players.
   
  The Premier Competition produced some shocks, and a few 180's. Last seasons Champions were the Charcoal Burner, and again the Burner, although different personal won through to next May's Final. Led by Lee Gladman, and partnered by Richard Stanford & Ron Clarke the Burner trio beat off some tough challengers before seeing off Tony Denman, Ant Morley & Mike Morley of the RS Bumbles 2-1 in the semis.
   
  In the Final, they will face the trio of Kevin Reilly, Alan Colegate & Danny King of the Royal Bridges, who earlier beat CC Bumbles Tommy Lewis, Alex Whiteside & Darren Gale, and in the semis the shock treble of the Dingles who had beaten one of the favourites Pelhams Neil Smith, Pete Crossley & Peter Sopp. In the semi, the Dingle trio of Ian Holman, Owen Grantham & Stuart Campbell couldn't stop the Royals, before finally crashing out 2-0.
   
  Four trebles qualified at Three Bridges. From the top half, Bridges Lee Nichols, Mal Terry & Dave Philpot, along with Ron Webster, Dave Wragg & Nigel Robbins from the Imperial went through. Joining them are the trebles of Mark Stevens, Eric Spencer & Henry Spencer of the Conservative Club, and the Railway Rebels Mal Richardson, Steve Maslem & Gary Konzel, Richardson & Maslem being part of last seasons winning Treble from the Railway Club.
   
  On the night six 180's were hit, from Lee Nichols, Steve Mecrow (Pictured bottom left), Peter Sopp (Pictured top left), Ernie Potter, Ant & Mike Morley, while Stuart Campbell & Kevin Reilly hit 117 & 112 finishes respectably.
   
  In an rearranged A Division fixture, APV helped by Bob Casey's 180, beat the Rugby Club 7-2 to move up to third in the table.
   
     
  20th November - Week 7 Round Up by Dave Miles
 

Last Friday's games saw the end of the first third of the season, with the Charcoal Burner [ Premier ], Bridges [ A Div ] & Three Bridges A [ B Div ] in the pole positions of their divisions, plus a massive 85 180's recorded to date, making the league record of 336 maximums recorded in 2003 certainly in danger this season.
   
  The Charcoal Burner go into the second third of the season clear leaders of the Premier Division after they put the reigning Champions Pelhams to the sword last Friday winning 6-3, Burner's Lee Gladman with a 180, and 100 checkout put in a strong performance, while Jason Yates hit a consolation 180 for the Champions.
   
  Plenty of high finishes were had at the Conservative Club as the two Bumbles teams went head to head, Paul Burrows (Pictured bottom left) hit a 156 for the RS side, team mate Ant Morley hit a 103, while Mark 'Spike' Harris struck a 125 out shot for the CC side, add maximums for Alex Whiteside, Ben Burton & Tony Denman, making a very entertaining game. Diamonds inflicted a 9-0 thumping to Longley C , with Paul Trivass providing Diamonds sparkle with a 105 finish, while the Dingles move off bottom spot, after picking up 3 pts during their 6-3 defeat by the Royal Bridges, for whom Kevin Reilly (Pictured top left)  notched 160 and 112 check outs, and Nigel Panton hit a maximum..
   
  7-2, proved a popular score in the A Division as all three matches ended that way  With leaders Bridges enjoying a night off, second placed Labour Blasters made the most of it to close just 1 pt adrift after beating the Conservative Club, for whom Henry Spencer posted a 180, APV's young County Youth star Mark Fluck also hit the magical 180 to help his side beat bottom side Pelham Buckle, and the third 7-2 win came for the Rugby Club over the Railway Rebels, with Mal Richardson's maximum for the Rebels all in vain.
   
  B Division leaders Three Bridges made it six successive wins when beating the Guns & Roses 7-2, they now lead the Imperial by 4 pts following the Broadfield side's 8-1 beating of the Heathy Farmers. Downwind's recent good run continues, with a 6-3 victory over the Paymasters.
     
  13th November - Week 6 Round Up by Dave Miles
 

 

The Charcoal Burner's 9-0 whitewash of the Dingles, & the Pelhams defeat by the Diamonds, propels the Furnace Green side to the top of the Premier Division after last Friday's matches.
   
  The Burner were in superb form, only dropping two legs all night against the Dingles, Del Furminger's 180, and Lee Gladman (Pictured bottom left) with a 130 finish stole the show, leaving the Dingles bottom of the Premier Division after their defeat. Longley's solitary point in there 8-1 defeat to the Con Club Bumbles was enough for them to move off the bottom, because of their better 180 record, indeed Terry Britt (Pictured top left) struck a maximum in celebration of his team's move up the table.
   
  Last weeks leaders the Pelhams suffered their second successive defeat when going down 6-3 to the Diamonds, the Diamonds responding well after last weeks heavy loss to the Burner, Steve Mecrow struck a 180 for the Diamonds, thus leaving Peter Sopp & Andy Macintosh's maximums all in vain for the Pelhams.
   
  Dan Bradford [ Royal Bridges ] & Tony Denman [ RS Bumbles ] both hit 180's during the Royals 6-3 win, the Bee's Tony Arnold also got on the score sheet with a 100 checkout.
   
  Bridges continue there early good season form in the A Division, helped by Lee Nichols 115 finish, they touched down 5-4 against the Rugby Club, to open up a big 8 pt gap over second placed Labour Blasters who had a bye.
   
  Third placed Conservative Club ran out narrow 5-4 winners over APV, for whom Dave Gardner recorded a maximum, while at the Railway Club, the home side faced a depleted Pelham Buckle side, running out comfortable 7-2 winners.
   
  The battle at the Imperial, between the two 100% record sides in the B Division, proved too be a rather one-sided affair. Three Bridges hammered their hosts 8-1 to replace the Imperial at the top of the Division, Andy Shadbolt's great 119 finish for Three Bridges proving to be the highlight.
   
  Paymaster's also posted a big 8-1 win, when defeating Heathy Farmers to move out of the bottom three for the first time this season, and Downwind notched their second successive victory when overpowering the Blocbusters 6-3.
     
  6th November - Week 5 Round Up by Dave Miles
 

Last Friday's results produced defeats for the Reigning & former Champions of the League.
   
  At the Conservative Club, the reigning Champions Pelham's suffered their first defeat of the season, when going down 6-3 to the CC Bumbles, with PDC star 'Diamond' Dave Askew making his league debut for the Bee's, the Pelhams found it tough going, despite Mick Clarke posting a 180 & a 116 finish, and Jason Yates poking home a 136 checkout for the Pelham's, maximums from Mark Harris & Ronnie Godbeer proved too much on the night for the Champions.
   
  At the Charcoal Burner, former Champions Diamonds had a miserable night, they could only muster 5 winning legs, as they crashed 9-0 to their rampant hosts, with the Burner's Lee Gladman's fine 116 finish being the highlight in from his teams great effort.
   
  Ant Morley (Pictured top left) notched his fourth maximum of the season to help the RS Bumbles too a much needed win, when beating the Dingles 6-3. Longley C stay bottom of the Premier Division after their 7-2 defeat to the Royal Bridges. Three 180's were hit during the game, Kevin Reilly and Dan Bradford for the Royals, with Ernie Potter replying for Longley's, Andy Gurr grabbed a 120 finish for the Royals, as they move back into the top four.
   
  Bridges 100% record continues in the A Division, inspired by Jason Terry who hit his third maximum, they overcame the Railway Rebels 5-4, the Labour Blasters closed to within 3 pts of Bridges following their 6-3 victory over the Rugby Club.
   
  The Conservative Club revenged last week's defeat in the K.O.Cup by the Pelham Buckle, by defeating them 6-3 at the Conservative Club. Three Bridges took advantage of the B Division leaders Imperial's bye, to close the gap at the top to just two points after winning 8-1 against Heathy Farmers, Andy Shadbolt's great 180 being the highlight.
   
  Ross Mitchell (Pictured bottom left) was on good form for the Guns & Roses, hitting a maximum & a 109 finish, team mate Mick North also struck a 180, bur sadly all their efforts were in vain, as their opponents Downwind took the match 5-4. Paymaster's finally recorded their first win of the season, when defeating the Blocbusters 6-3, to move clear of bottom spot.
     
  30th October - KO Cup 1st Round by Dave Miles
 

Friday night saw the League's opening games in this season's K.O. Cup.
   
  Holders the Pelhams [ formally the Greyhound ] were the hosts to A Division APV, while the tie of the round pitted last seasons finalists Diamonds, against new boys CC Bumbles in the only all Premier Div clash.
   
  No giant-killings were had, as all the David v Goliath acts went in favour of higher ranked sides... In the top game, CC Bumbles had to come from behind to finally overhaul the Diamonds by winning the 1001 team game for a 5-4 win, Darren Gale (Pictured bottom left) struck a 180, and Alex Whiteside recorded a 114 checkout for the Bee's.
   
  Pelhams & the Charcoal Burner both eased through against lower division sides APV & the Paymasters 8-0 respectably, with Burners Ron Clarke, Del Furminger, Lee Gladman & Ken Sowerby (Pictured top left) all hitting 180's, and team mate Dean Edlin checking out on 117.
   
  RS Bumbles enjoyed a 7-1 victory over B Division Three Bridges A, helped by Stan Jackson's maximum, and 129 & 105 finishes from Mike & Ant Morley respectably... Premier side Dingles were made to struggle against B Division Guns & Roses, finally going through 5-3, but Paul Comper did hit a consolation maximum for the West Green side, while another 180 was struck by Bridges Jason Terry, his effort helped ensure his side a place in the second round with a 7-1 defeat of the Heathy Farmers.
   
  At the Pelham Buckle, Paul Harding's great 158 checkout was not enough to prevent the Conservative Club crashing out 6-2 to there hosts, and in a Premier v B Division clash, Royal Bridges proved too strong for the Blocbusters, going through 7-1... Labour Blasters faced a tricky tie at the Imperial, but came through it with a fine 6-2 victory to book their place in the next round.. Longley C also go through, they received a 5-0 walkover as their opponents Downwind failed to show for their game.
   
  In a league match postponed from week 3, the Charcoal Burner were awarded a 5-0 win over CC Bumbles by the League's Committee, as both parties couldn't agree on a date to re-arrange the fixture.
     
  23rd October - Week 4 Round Up by Dave Miles
 

The barrage of 180's continues as the total is just short of Fifty after just four weeks.. Mark Harris (Pictured top left) making his League debut for the Con Club Bumbles, hit a brilliant hat-trick of maximums to help his side beat Diamonds 6-3 in the Premier Division, the Bees Anthony Hopkins also chipped in with a useful 110 checkout.
   
  Royal Bridges Danny King struck his 4th 180 of the season, but all to no avail, as his side crashed 7-2 at the Pelham Buckle to the Pelhams, the Pelham's strengthened top spot to a 13 pt lead with the victory, Andy Macintosh hit a 100 checkout for the leaders.
   
  The Charcoal Burner also won 7-2, they beat RS Bumbles helped by maximums from Lee Gladman & Del Furminger, Gladman also hit a 132 checkout, while Ant Morley & Tony Arnold both notched 180s for the Bees.. The battle between the two basement sides ended up with a 5-4 victory for Longley C over the Dingles, Mal Bradford celebrated his sides win with a maximum.
   
  Only two A Division games were played, as APV's match with the Rugby Club was cancelled... Leaders Bridges continue there good form with a 8-1 thumping of the Pelham Buckle, with Roly Ratcliffe on target with a 180.. Labour Blasters move up to second following their 7-2 beating of the Railway Rebels, former Diamonds star Ty Coward now playing for the Blasters, struck his first 180 of the season.
   
  The B Division leaders Imperial stay top after their 4th successive win, when defeating Downwind 8-1, former Charcoal Burner player Dave Wragg (Pictured bottom left) is enjoying his move by striking a 180, and hitting a 116 finish for the Broadfield side, Steve Riggs was also on target for the Imperial, hitting a fine 102 finish.. The Blocbuster's recorded their second win when comfortably overturning Heathy Farmers 8-1... Paul Comper struck a maiden 180 for the Guns & Roses, as the West Green side chalked up a fine 6-3 victory over the Paymasters.
   
  N.B: This Friday, is the 1st rround of the K.O.Cup. A Division APV, have the honour of facing the Cup holders Pelhams, while the tie of the round has the Diamonds taking on CC Bumbles in a repeat of last Friday's match.
     
  16th October - Week 3 Round Up by Dave Miles
 

For the third week running, plenty of maximums, and high checkouts featured strongly during last Friday's matches. Sussex star Pete Crossley (Pictured bottom left) starting his first game of the season for the Pelhams struck a 180, as the Premier Division leaders whitewashed the Dingles 9-0, young Owen Grantham nabbed a fine 107 finish as consolation for the Dingles.
   
  Royal Bridges ended the unbeaten run of the Diamonds, with a 6-3 victory. Danny King (Pictured top left) notched his third maximum of the season for the Royals, while Nick Edwards 180, and Steve Mecrow's 120 finish for the Diamonds, all proved to be in vain.
   
  After last weeks heavy defeat by the Pelhams, RS Bumbles bounced back, by inflicting there own 8-1 thumping of Longley C, although Warren Grantham did hit a consolation 180. The match between CC Bumbles & the Charcoal Burner was postponed.
   
  The top two in the A Division clashed at Three Bridges FC, leaders Bridges held on to top spot after beating Labour Blasters 5-4, with Jason Terry & Darren Schollar both hitting maximums for Bridges.
   
  The Conservative Club move into second place, following their 6-3 defeat of the Rugby Club, while at the Railway Club, APV'S Barrie Ottley hit a great 154 checkout, as his side edged a thriller with the Railway Rebels 5-4.
   
  The Imperial are proving to be the team to beat in the B Division, the Broadfield outfit made it three wins from three starts with a 6-3 victory over the Paymasters, to lead the Division, Mark Hord & Kevin Riley both marked the win with 180's
   
  Three Bridges also have an 100% record after beating Downwind also by 6-3, and in another 6-3 score line, Blocbusters recorded their opening win of the season by overcoming the Guns & Roses, the Busters Kevin Skelton celebrated victory by hitting a fine 138 finish.
     
  9th October - Week 2 Round Up by Dave Miles
 

More maximums and high checkouts were the order of the day, as fourteen 180's were struck, making 26 scored in the first two weeks of the season. Ben Burton struck two for the Con Club Bumbles, as the Surrey star helped his side beat Royal Bridges 6-3 in the Premier Division, Dan Bradford (Pictured top left) & Danny King hit one apiece for the Royals, but further high finishing, 139 & 100 from Darren Gale and Ronnie Godbeer proved decisive.
   
  Reigning Champions Pelhams dropped their first point of the season when defeating RS Bumbles 8-1, despite 180's from Ant Morley, Mike Morley & Stan Jackson, the Bee's couldn't upset the Champions, as Andy Macintosh, Dan Grimmett with maximums, and Mick Clarke's (Pictured bottom left) great 146 finish led the Pelhams to a comfortable win.
   
  Diamonds made it two wins from two starts by seeing off the Dingles 8-1, Phil Smith's 180 & Nick Edwards 101 checkout being the highlights.. Del Furminger & Ron Clarke grabbed maximums for the Charcoal Burner, during their sides 9-0 mauling of Longley C, Richard Stanford also helped the Burners cause by striking a 145 & 100 finishes.
   
  Bridges made it two consecutive 7-2 wins in the A Division when beating APV, with Mal Terry making the headlines for the second week running with a fine 113 checkout, some consolation for the Labour based side, was Mick Phelan's 180, and Jordon Ottley's 108 finish.
   
  Second placed Labour Blasters also notched a 7-2 win when defeating the Pelham Buckle, leaving Russ Lee's maximum for the Ifield side all in vain.. The Conservative Club responded well after the previous weeks heavy defeat, by derailing the Railway Rebels with a 8-1 victory.
   
  The Imperial top the B Division after two weeks, following a great 8-1 win over the Blockbusters, but hot on their heels come Three Bridges who beat Paymasters 6-3... Guns & Roses posted their first win in the League when defeating Heathy Farmers 5-4.. But the Previous weeks leaders Downwind had a bye, and dropped down to fifth place as a result of it.
     
  2nd October - Week 1 Round Up by Dave Miles
 

The opening week of the new season, produced twelve maximums, plus the rare 170 checkout as the season got off to a cracking start. Reigning Champions Greyhound, now playing as the Pelhams started the defence of their title with a comfortable 9-0 victory over Longley C, with Andy Macintosh, Gary Simpson & Mick Clarke's 112, 111 & 100 checkouts respectably being the highlights.
   
  But the match of the night was played out at Three Bridges FC where last seasons runners up Royal Bridges played hosts to a much strengthened Charcoal Burner. Six 180's were struck in the match, through the Royals Alan Colegate, Kevin Reilly  & Danny King, while Lee Gladman, Ken Sowerby & Dean Edlin replied for the Burner. But the highlight of this high scoring encounter came from the Royals Kevin Reilly (Pictured Left) , who's great 170 finish stole the show, and a further 158 checkout from King proved just too much for the Burner as the Royals scraped home 5-4.
   
  Newly promoted Dingles found life in the Premier Division tough, as they crashed 8-1 to the strong Con Club Bumbles, helped with a maximum from Ron Godbeer and a 118 checkout from former PDC player Ben Burton. The Bees stablemates, RS Bumbles started with a 6-3 defeat, going down to former Champions Diamonds, with this match providing another four maximums through Paul Trivass & Colin Whiley for the Diamonds, and Ant Morley & Tony Denman for the Bumbles.
  Mal Terry (Pictured Left) started the season well for Bridges, hitting a 180 during her sides 7-2 beating of the Conservative Club in the A Division, Darren Schollar also helped Bridges cause by chipping in with a 118 checkout. APV notched up a narrow 5-4 reverse to the Labour Blasters, while the clash between last seasons two promoted sides ended with a 5-4 win for the Rugby Club over the Pelham Buckle.
   
  New sides Downwind & Guns & Roses, had mixed fortunes in their opening games in the B Division. Downwind started well, beating Heathy Farmers 6-3, with Andy Caller hitting a 100 finish, but Guns & Roses couldn't over turn the Imperial, they went down 6-3 to the Broadfield side. Three Bridges who were relegated from the A Division got off to a winning start in the B Division by beating the Blocbusters 6-3
