|
Friday's action saw the League's three Singles

won in the 2009 Competitions. |
| |
|
Ron Clarke was defending the Premier title at the
Labour Club, Dick Brice was trying to retain the A &
B Division's crown at Three Bridges F.C. and Tracey

the Premier Competition, but that certainly didn't
stop the 180's & high finishes. |
| |
|

Raymond in the last eight of the A & B Competition,
with Raymond going on to clinch his place on Finals
night. |
| |
|
Raymond's opponent in that semi-final will be
Railway Rebels Mal Richardson, who defeated both the
Imperial players Ron Webster, then Dave Wragg who
shot the nights highest finish a modest 100. In the
other Semi-final two Labour Blasters team mates will
face up. Roy Oxlade will play big Dave Fry, after
they beat Laurie Shepherd, Darren Schollar, Roly
Ratcliffe & Ty Coward respectably. Fry celebrated
his qualifying by hitting the sole 180 on the night. |
| |
|
Sadly Tracy Lucas didn't defend her title in the
Ladies competition. |
| |
|
Only seven players competed this year, leaving this
competition in jeopardy for future years. Despite
the lack of interest, former Champion & last years
runner up Dingles Tracey Jenner, won through beating
Heathy Farmers Sue Raikes & Andrea Rodger. But the
surprise of the night came in the form of thirteen
year old Paige Oxlade, the young Labour Club player
beat off the more experienced player Barbara Hobden

Last Friday's games saw the end of the first third
of the season, with the Charcoal Burner [ Premier ],
Bridges [ A Div ] & Three Bridges A [ B Div ] in the
pole positions of their divisions, plus a massive 85
180's recorded to date, making the league record of
336 maximums recorded in 2003 certainly in danger
this season. |
| |
|
| |
The Charcoal Burner go into the second third of the
season clear leaders of the Premier Division after
they put the reigning Champions Pelhams to the sword
last Friday winning 6-3, Burner's Lee Gladman with a
180, and 100 checkout put in a strong performance,
while Jason Yates hit a consolation 180 for the

Club as the two Bumbles teams went head to head,

for the RS side, team mate Ant Morley hit a 103,
while Mark 'Spike' Harris struck a 125 out shot for
the CC side, add maximums for Alex Whiteside, Ben
Burton & Tony Denman, making a very entertaining
game. Diamonds inflicted a 9-0 thumping to Longley C
, with Paul Trivass providing Diamonds sparkle with
a 105 finish, while the Dingles move off bottom
spot, after picking up 3 pts during their 6-3 defeat
by the Royal Bridges, for whom Kevin Reilly
(Pictured top left) notched 160 and 112
check outs, and Nigel Panton hit a maximum.. |
| |
|
| |

adrift after beating the Conservative Club, for whom
Henry Spencer posted a 180, APV's young County Youth
star Mark Fluck also hit the magical 180 to help his
side beat bottom side Pelham Buckle, and the third

13th November
- Week 6 Round Up
by Dave Miles |
| |

|
The Charcoal Burner's 9-0 whitewash of the Dingles,
& the Pelhams defeat by the Diamonds, propels the
Furnace Green side to the top of the Premier
Division after last Friday's matches. |
| |
|
| |
The Burner were in superb form, only dropping two
legs all night against the Dingles, Del Furminger's
180, and Lee Gladman (Pictured bottom left)
with a 130 finish stole the show, leaving the
Dingles bottom of the Premier Division after their
defeat. Longley's solitary point in there 8-1 defeat
to the Con Club Bumbles was enough for them to move
off the bottom, because of their better 180 record,
indeed Terry Britt (Pictured top left) struck
a maximum in celebration of his team's move up the
table. |
| |
|
| |
Last weeks leaders the Pelhams suffered their second
successive defeat when going down 6-3 to the
Diamonds, the Diamonds responding well after last
weeks heavy loss to the Burner, Steve Mecrow struck
a 180 for the Diamonds, thus leaving Peter Sopp &
Andy Macintosh's maximums all in vain for the
Pelhams. |
| |
|
| |
Dan Bradford [ Royal Bridges ] & Tony Denman [ RS
Bumbles ] both hit 180's during the Royals 6-3 win,
the Bee's Tony Arnold also got on the score sheet
with a 100 checkout. |

A Division, helped by Lee Nichols 115 finish, they
touched down 5-4 against the Rugby Club, to open up
a big 8 pt gap over second placed Labour Blasters
who had a bye. |
| |

| |
Third placed Conservative Club ran out narrow 5-4
winners over APV, for whom Dave Gardner recorded a
maximum, while at the Railway Club, the home side
faced a depleted Pelham Buckle side, running out
comfortable 7-2 winners. |
| |
|
| |
The battle at the Imperial, between the two 100%
record sides in the B Division, proved too be a
rather one-sided affair. Three Bridges hammered
their hosts 8-1 to replace the Imperial at the top
of the Division, Andy Shadbolt's great 119 finish
for Three Bridges proving to be the highlight. |
| |
|
| |
Paymaster's also posted a big 8-1 win, when
defeating Heathy Farmers to move out of the bottom
three for the first time this season, and Downwind
notched their second successive victory when
overpowering the Blocbusters 6-3. |

miserable night, they could only muster 5 winning
legs, as they crashed 9-0 to their rampant hosts,

being the highlight in from his teams great effort. |
| |
|
| |
Ant Morley (Pictured top left) notched his
fourth maximum of the season to help the RS Bumbles
too a much needed win, when beating the Dingles 6-3.

were hit during the game, Kevin Reilly and Dan
Bradford for the Royals, with Ernie Potter replying
for Longley's, Andy Gurr grabbed a 120 finish for
the Royals, as they move back into the top four. |

inspired by Jason Terry who hit his third maximum,
they overcame the Railway Rebels 5-4, the Labour
Blasters closed to within 3 pts of Bridges following
their 6-3 victory over the Rugby Club. |
| |
|
| |
The Conservative Club revenged last week's defeat in
the K.O.Cup by the Pelham Buckle, by defeating them
6-3 at the Conservative Club. Three Bridges took
advantage of the B Division leaders Imperial's bye,
to close the gap at the top to just two points after
winning 8-1 against Heathy Farmers, Andy Shadbolt's
great 180 being the highlight. |
| |
|
| |

maximum & a 109 finish, team mate Mick North also
struck a 180, bur sadly all their efforts were in
vain, as their opponents Downwind took the match
5-4. Paymaster's finally recorded their first win of
the season, when defeating the Blocbusters 6-3, to
move clear of bottom spot. |

of the Heathy Farmers. |
